About the event
Resume Strong, Spirit Tired is a therapeutic group for Black women who show up as capable, reliable, and high-performing at work, while silently carrying stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. This group centers the reality of workplace pressure, where expectations to excel, code-switch, overperform, and “handle it all” often come at the expense of mental health. Participants will explore how workplace stress uniquely impacts Black women, including navigating microaggressions, feeling the need to prove oneself, and managing the emotional labor of being “the strong one” in professional spaces. Even when the work gets done, the cost can show up as fatigue, irritability, anxiety, disconnection, or feeling mentally drained long after the workday ends.
Participants will:
Identifying how workplace stress and burnout are showing up emotionally and physically
Understanding the impact of overworking, perfectionism, and performance pressure
Setting healthy boundaries without guilt or fear
Reducing emotional exhaustion and rebuilding energy in sustainable ways
