Amber Jackson, LPC

Therapist

Amber Jackson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is dedicated to helping clients become the best versions of themselves. Amber takes a collaborative and strengths-based approach to therapy, where she works with her clients, while also highlighting their internal strengths and abilities to promote positive change. Amber’s clinical specialties include working with adolescents, adults, and families, where she utilizes mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Her areas of interest include: depression, anxiety, trauma, transitions and adjustments, interpersonal and family relational problems. Amber received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Iowa State University and her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Abajah Johnkin, LSW

Therapist

​Abajah is passionate about helping the Black community with mental health awareness and wellness. She's been in the social work field for 5 years and has helped clients that struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, postpartum issues, and trauma by using a client-centered approach which supports the people she serves through empathy and building upon their strengths. She received her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Western Illinois University and my Masters in Social Work from Aurora University.

Mariah Price, M.S.

Therapist

Mariah Price is a a dynamic therapist dedicated to empowering Black young adults and teen girls on their mental health journeys through culturally responsive and trauma-informed care. With extensive experience in youth development and program coordination, she creates nurturing spaces where clients can explore their emotions, build resilience, and discover their inner strength. At Sista Afya Community Care, Mariah combines her passion for mentorship with evidence-based therapeutic techniques to make mental health care both accessible and culturally affirming. Mariah graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Counseling from Grace College and a Master's degree in School Counseling from National Louis University.
