About the event

Community-Centered Mental Health and Social Service Approaches for Vulnerable Populations will strengthen your capacity as mental health and social service professionals to serve vulnerable populations through community-centered, equity-driven approaches. The training focuses on understanding how systemic inequities, trauma, and limited access to care affect individuals and families, particularly those historically marginalized within social service systems.

Participants will learn to identify vulnerability within community contexts and explore culturally responsive, ethical strategies that promote dignity, inclusion, and trust. The workshop emphasizes practical tools that professionals can immediately apply to improve engagement, service delivery, and advocacy efforts. Special attention is given to the use of person-first language to reduce stigma and enhance communication across diverse communities.
